Do You Believe in Karma?

Article by Wendy McCance

Do you believe in Karma?  I do.  I have seen Karma in action several times.  The most recent example of karma that I witnessed was when someone I have known for years and who isn’t the nicest person helped a neighbor when they had trouble clearing their snow during a recent snowstorm.

The neighbor had asked for assistance and after some hemming and hawing, this person gave in and helped the neighbor out.  It was a generous thing to do.  The neighbor has health problems and shouldn’t have been clearing snow at all.

After this person helped out, they received a call thanking them for their help.  The neighbor was so grateful and wanted to make sure this person knew how much they appreciated the help.

Here’s the karma kicker, the person couldn’t take the thank you and just feel good about helping out.  It became a twisted mind-bending issue for that person.  They wanted to figure out what the neighbor really wanted.  What was behind their scheme to call and give thanks?

This is karma.  A person who has a constant agenda and is always looking to gain the upper-hand can’t understand someone who doesn’t think in the same way.  As far as this person is concerned, no one can be that decent.  Everyone has a hidden plan if you look hard enough.

So that is what this person lives with.  They don’t see people as individuals who can be nice, grateful or decent.  People are all selfish, demanding and out to get ahead of another as far as this person is concerned.

The worst part of this story is that there is no way to convince this person that people aren’t all the same.  There are many decent people in the world who do not have some sort of secret plan to do something devious.

Karma brings misery to those that create misery for others.  Karma brings joy to those who bring joy to others.  I’ve seen it happen again and again.

Have you witnessed karma in action?  What are your thoughts on this topic?

I do not believe in Karma Wendy, but in the working of the Holy Spirit. His working through me, in helping minister to others in times of need. The Holy Spirit prompts me to do God’s work here on earth. I am a “born again” Christian, and I follow what God’s Word (the Bible) teaches…if we believe in His Son Jesus Christ, and that He shed His blood on the cross for our sins, we will receive His “free gift of salvation” and His Holy Spirit comes and lives in our hearts. We will then be guided by the Holy Spirits “prompting in our hearts”, to do according to God’s will, here on this earth. God commands us to “love one another”, just as “He loves us”. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Have a fantastic week Wendy! Donny in Alaska 🙂

I not only understand karma as a fact, I believe in it as well. Karma is a “shorthand” Sanskrit term for cause and effect in our lives. So, it always works even if we do not believe in it, because it is such a basic part of anything, not anything mysterious or really mystical.
